The East Lyme Police Cadets perform various community service details throughout the year.  They assist with traffic control at the Memorial Day Parade, East Lyme Day, Holiday Stroll, Holiday Light Parade to name a few.  They have assisted with the Jeffery's Rainbow Run, East Lyme Lacrosse Tournament and the Jingle Bell 5K, Niantic Boardwalk 5K, Shred-it Day, etc.

Every November on the weekend before Thanksgiving, the Cadets spend TWO days at the Stop & Shop in East Lyme, collecting non-perishable can goods and Turkeys to help fill the local food pantries in East Lyme, Waterford and Montville.  In 2014, the Cadets collected 37 turkeys but enough cash donations to be able to purchase an additional 60 turkeys for a total of 97 Turkeys.  This helped provide a Thanksgiving meal to 97 different families in the East Lyme and surrounding towns.

In 2017, the cadets, in conjunction with several town employees, will be creating an exciting and terrifying Haunted Trail to raise funds and food for local charities and the East Lyme Care & Share food pantry.  We are in our 3rd year of the very successful event. Keep looking for details to be posted in/around late August, early September.

We will update this events page as we find out about local events we will be assisting with.  Please show your support to the Cadets and make a donation if you can.  Your donations are tax-deductible.
